DISTANCE: 5Km (3.1 miles) & 10Km (6.2 miles)

 

 

 

START/FINISH: The walk begins and ends at O’Brien Park on the NE corner of Parker Road (Hwy 83) and Mainstreet in Parker, Colorado. The Parker Oktoberfest will be held in the park which is in old town Parker. There are several restaurants in the area.

FEES:      $3.00 - IVV Credit and $1.00 Oktoberfest Award

 

 

 

RATING: 1A - Elevation 5,908 feet with minimal elevation gain

 

 

 

TRAIL: Trail is on sidewalks and bike paths and mostly flat terrain. Strollers and wheelchairs can complete the course. Dogs are welcomed on leashes and pick up is required. Water and restrooms are available at the Start/Finish. Restrooms are available at 2Km, the Arboretum, and the Pace Center. The walk begins in O’Brien Park, site of the Parker Oktoberfest. Route covers sidewalks in old town and the paved Sulfur Gulch Trail, which heads west with fine views of the mountains. It then turns around for the 5Km. The 10Km crosses the bridge to the Cherry Creek Regional Trail, which continues south to the Arboretum at McCabe Meadows Park. Then the 10Km crosses Parker Road and connects to the Tallman Gulch trail, which has some loose gravel. While in town watch for the Albino deer, often spotted near town hall!
